Sweepy Hollow · Last updated: August 24, 2026
Sweepy Hollow ("the game", "we", "us") is a single-player action game in which a night-shift janitor sweeps a haunted house. It collects as little data as possible — enough to run the online leaderboards, and, when we advertise the game, to measure which campaign led to your install. The game itself shows no ads.
Information we collect
- Nickname — a name you choose (up to 24 characters). It is shown publicly on the leaderboards. If you do not set one, you are not listed.
- Leaderboard scores — for the all-time boards, the number of stages you have cleared and your equipment power. For the Daily Challenge board, your survival time, your score, and how many bosses you defeated that day. This is gameplay data, not personal data.
- Anonymous account ID — a random identifier created by Firebase Anonymous Authentication so the game can save your leaderboard row and so that only you can overwrite it. You do not create an account, and it is not linked to your real name, email address, phone number, or any other real-world identity.
- Advertising identifier & attribution data (Adjust) — we use Adjust, a mobile measurement provider, to measure installs and sessions and a few gameplay milestones, and — when we promote the game through advertising — to understand which campaign led to your install. This may include your device's advertising identifier (GAID on Android, IDFA on iOS), a truncated IP address, and basic device and install/event information. It is used for attribution and aggregate measurement only, not to identify you personally, and the game itself shows no ads.
Information we do NOT collect
- No in-app advertising — the game shows no ads. (We do read your device's advertising ID for install attribution and aggregate measurement only — see above.)
- No profile-based ad targeting inside the game, and no selling of your data.
- No real name, email address, phone number, or postal address.
- No location, contacts, photos, files, microphone, or camera access.
- No purchases and no payment information — the game has no in-app purchases.
- We do not sell or share your data, and we do not profile you for advertising.
Permissions the app requests
- Internet — to sync leaderboard rows with Firebase.
- Notifications — optional, and you are asked before any are scheduled. All
notifications are generated on your device (at most one per day, as a reminder that the Daily
Challenge has reset). Nothing is sent from a server, and declining costs you nothing but the reminder.
The related
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETEDandWAKE_LOCKpermissions exist only so a reminder you already scheduled survives a restart.
Where your data is stored and who can access it
Leaderboard data is stored and processed using Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore), which acts as our data processor. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Firebase Privacy and Security terms and the Google Privacy Policy. Your nickname and scores are publicly readable, because that is what a leaderboard is; nothing else about you is stored. We have no other servers.
Attribution and measurement data is processed by Adjust acting as our service provider, under Adjust's Privacy Policy. When you install the game after interacting with one of our advertisements, Adjust shares limited attribution information — such as which advertising campaign led to the install — with the advertising network that served the ad, so the campaign's performance can be measured. We do not sell your data, and apart from this attribution measurement we do not share it with advertisers or other third parties.
Data retention and deletion
Your leaderboard row is kept, tied to your anonymous ID, for as long as you keep the game installed, so that your placing persists between sessions. Daily Challenge rows are per-day and are not carried forward.
How to delete your data
- Delete everything stored on our side — email dev@nextad.ai from any address with the nickname you play under, and we will delete your nickname, your all-time leaderboard rows, and your Daily Challenge rows. We action these within 30 days. You do not need an account to ask, and you do not have to prove anything beyond the nickname — there is nothing sensitive behind it.
- Delete everything stored on your device — uninstalling the game removes your local save, your progress, and your anonymous ID.
Because the anonymous ID lives only on your device, uninstalling also means we can no longer connect any remaining leaderboard row to you — but if you want the row itself removed, email us as above and we will delete it.
Your choices
You can reset your device's advertising identifier or opt out of ad personalization at any time in your device settings (Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads; iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking). Doing so limits attribution measurement; it does not affect the leaderboards or the game.
Children's privacy
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The only personal data the game stores is a nickname you choose. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change what the game collects, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
